Greece’s Highest Mountain · Legendary Home of the Twelve Olympian Gods · National Park Since 1938

Mount Olympus is more than the backdrop to Three Peaks — it is the very reason we are here. Greece’s highest peak and one of Europe’s most celebrated hiking destinations lies just moments away. From our doorstep to the trailhead, it’s only a five-minute walk.

THE TRAILS

Find your trail.
Find yourself.

Prionia to Spilios Agapitos Refuge

The classic Olympus ascent. Well-marked through ancient forests of black pine and beech, rising to the mountain refuge at 2,100m. Most hikers use this as a base for summit attempts the following morning. Spectacular views open from the final third.

Mytikas Summit — Throne of Zeus

The mythological seat of Zeus — the highest peak in Greece. The final ascent through the Plateau of the Muses and the rocky Kakoskala ridge is demanding. The panoramic reward across Macedonia and the Aegean is unlike anything else in this country.

Enipeas Gorge Walk

Walk directly from Litochoro into one of Greece’s most dramatic gorges. The Enipeas river rushes through ancient rock walls, past Byzantine chapels carved into the cliff face. No technical equipment required — perfect for families or rest-day explorers.

Diastavrosi Forest Loop

A gentle forest loop ideal for birdwatching and wildflower spotting in spring. Dense pine cover keeps the path cool even in summer — perfect for an evening walk before dinner, or a family outing with young children.

FLORA & WILDLIFE

A world apart —
just above the treeline.

Mount Olympus National Park — Greece’s first, established in 1938 — protects over 1,700 plant species, 32 found nowhere else on earth. Look out for golden eagles, roe deer, chamois, and the endemic Olympus violet. Wildflower meadows carpet the lower slopes each spring in extraordinary colour.

Mid-May to mid-October for most trails. Summit attempts require snow-free conditions — typically late June through September. Spring offers wildflowers; autumn gives golden pine forests.

What to Bring

Sturdy hiking boots (mandatory above Prionia). Warm layers — temperatures drop sharply above 2,000m. Rain jacket, 2L+ water, sun protection, trail snacks, headlamp for summit starts.
